80th Independence Day Celebration – 2026

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Business Management, Mangaluru, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 at 8:45 a.m. on the college campus with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The programme was attended by the Principal, faculty members and students. Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi (Retd.), Indian Navy, was the Chief Guest of the celebration.

The programme was organised to commemorate India’s independence and to honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the nation. The celebration highlighted the values of patriotism, unity in diversity, freedom and responsible citizenship. The presence of the distinguished Chief Guest added significance to the occasion and inspired the students to value discipline, dedication, leadership and service to the nation.

The celebration provided an opportunity for the students and staff to come together and express their respect and gratitude towards the nation. It also encouraged the younger generation to understand their responsibilities as citizens and contribute positively to the progress and development of the country.

The programme concluded on a patriotic and inspiring note, leaving the students with a renewed sense of pride, responsibility and commitment towards the nation.

A March Past Competition was also organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations, in which students participated actively with great enthusiasm and discipline. The participants carried placards depicting patriotic messages and themes, while representing the rich cultural diversity and spirit of the nation. The activity fostered a sense of patriotism, unity, teamwork and national pride among the students, making the celebration more engaging and meaningful.
