On the 7th of October, 2023, workshop on “Hosting Xplore” was conducted to delve into the intricate details of website hosting by the department of Computer Application. The focus of the workshop was to provide hands-on practical knowledge on how to host a website, allowing participants to have a deeper understanding of the subject.
Mr. Delson Dsouza graced the workshop as the chief resource person. He is revered in the industry for his role as a Senior Cloud Engineer and is the visionary founder of Code Slice. The workshop began with Mr. Dsouza elucidating the fundamental concepts related to web hosting. His approach to simplifying complex topics ensured that even those new to the subject could grasp the basics. The major highlight of the workshop was the hands-on practical session. Students were guided step-by-step on how to host a website. By the end of the session, each student had successfully hosted their small website, which was a significant achievement and a testament to the effectiveness of the workshop. The workshop culminated in an interactive Q&A session. Students and faculty posed questions, tapping into Mr. Dsouza’s wealth of knowledge. This session further clarified doubts and ensured that participants left with a holistic understanding of website hosting. The workshop was attended by a keen set of learners, primarily Final year BCA students from SDM College, Students from neighbouring colleges and faculties from the BCA department of SDM colleges.
The workshop provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of website hosting. Such workshops play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications, preparing students for the challenges of the IT World.
