The Consumer Club District Federation organised the Consumer Club Award Ceremony on 23 May 2026.
The programme was hosted by K.G. Shreya Shetty and began with a prayer by Manasi Kini, followed by a welcome address by Sunanda Kumble, President, District Consumer Information Center, D.K. District, Mangalore. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
M.J. Salian, Honorary President, addressed the gathering on the importance of consumer awareness and consumer rights. Shri Raja B.S., Chief Operating Officer (COO), Karnataka Bank, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the importance of consumers knowing and exercising their rights.
Mr. Rafeeq announced the top scorers, and the awards were presented by Smt. Zaibunnisa, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, D.K. District, Mangalore. In her presidential remarks, she explained the evolution of consumer law and emphasised the significance of consumer protection.
Dr. Bhanuprakash B.E., Principal, SDM College of Business Management, congratulated the achievers and encouraged students to spread consumer awareness.
The programme also included the presentation of awards and certificates, followed by student and faculty feedback. The programme concluded with theVote of Thanks delivered by D.R. Sunanda Dambekodi, Secretary, District Consumer Information Centre, D.K. District, Mangalore.
The Programme was coordinated by Mrs. Shwetha Y, Consumer Forum Coordinator, and successfully promoted consumer awareness among students and the community.
