Inauguration of SCAN Association 2026–27

The SCAN Association of the Department of Computer Applications was inaugurated on31 July 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Aman D’Souza, Project Manager at Updapt, an ESG technology company in Mangalore, and a distinguished alumnus of the college. Addressing the gathering, he shared his experiences as a member of the SCAN Association during his student days and highlighted how the association had contributed to his personal and professional growth. He encouraged students to actively participate in the association’s programmes and competitions, emphasizing that such activities help develop technical knowledge, creativity, confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills, and teamwork, all of which are essential for academic excellence and successful professional careers.

The Principal, Dr. Bhanuprakash B. E., delivered the presidential address. He explained the significance of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom, illustrating how each stage builds upon the other. He also creatively related the objectives of the SCAN Association to a QR code, explaining that just as a QR code provides access to valuable information, the association serves as a gateway for students to acquire knowledge, enhance skills, and explore new opportunities.

The programme concluded on an inspiring note with an engaging teaser presentation of INSPIRE 2026, the upcoming interclass competition, by Mr. Aryan Kotian and his team, motivating students to actively participate in the SCAN Association’s activities and make the most of the opportunities available for their academic, technical, personal, and professional development.

Ms. Anupama Acharya K. welcomed the gathering, while Mr. Prayag introduced the Chief Guest. Mr. Ramu presented the motto, theme, and the skill-based activities planned for the academic year 2026–27. Mr. Sujith B. N. proposed the vote of thanks, and Ms. Varuni N. Acharya compered the programme. The event was coordinated by Mr. Arun F. Sequeira, Staff Coordinator of the SCAN Association.
