Sankalpa 2026–27: Student Council Inaugurated at SDM College.

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Student Council 2026–27 was held at SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, with the theme “Sankalpa – A Resolve to Lead, Serve and Inspire.” 

Ms. Asma K., alumna and Deputy Director, Karnataka State Audit and Accounts Department, Zilla Panchayat, Dakshina Kannada, inaugurated the council and encouraged students to make the best use of the opportunities provided to them. She emphasised that leadership is built through active participation, responsibility and the willingness to learn from every experience.

Dr. S. Satheeschandra, Secretary, SDME Society, Ujire, in his address, urged students to recognise the opportunities available to them and use them effectively for their personal and professional growth. He encouraged the council members to demonstrate commitment, discipline and leadership in their respective roles.

Dr. Bhanuprakash B.E., Principal, congratulated the newly appointed council members and expressed his appreciation to the Student Council coordinators and faculty members for their dedicated efforts in guiding and supporting student leadership activities.

The programme also witnessed the appointment and badge presentation of student leaders heading the various major college initiatives, including Genesis, Sygma, Synergy and Inspire. The office bearers and student leaders formally took the oath of office, pledging to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and dedication.

A special Felicitation Programme was organised to honour Prof. Aruna P. Kamath, Former Principal, SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru. In her address, Prof. Aruna expressed her gratitude to the management and the institution for the honour and acknowledged the support and opportunities she had received during her association with the college.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment from the Student Council to uphold the spirit of Sankalpa by transforming vision into action and contributing meaningfully to the growth of the institution and its student community.
