The NSS Inauguration and “Youth for Civic Responsibility” programme was held on 12 August 2026 at SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Anil Kumar S. Bhoomaraddi, Additional Superintendent of Police, who urged the youth to become responsible citizens and stay away from bad habits and substance abuse.
Mr. N. R. Damodara Sharma, the Chief Speaker, emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, determination, and the active role of youth in building a better society.
Dr. Bhanuprakash B.E., Principal, encouraged students to participate actively in NSS activities and develop social sensitivity beyond academics.
Dr. Sheshappa K. Ameen, NSS Programme Officer, Mangalore University, highlighted the values of service, commitment, and responsibility among NSS volunteers.
Lion Sathyendra Bhat J. and Mr. Sagar Attavar also graced the occasion and encouraged students to engage in social service and active citizenship.
The NSS volunteers presented a thought-provoking play, “Ee Pattanakke Enaythu?”, which highlighted various social issues and added meaning to the programme. The programme inspired students to understand their responsibilities towards society and contribute positively to the community. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Preethika Dharmapal and Mr. Sudharshan K.
