The Fine Arts Association organised a guest lecture on “Beyond the Canvas: Art for Mental Well-being and Stress Management” on 18 August 2026. The session was delivered by Ms. Megharani Devadas, Senior Dispute Specialist at Checkmate, artist and model, who highlighted the significant role of art in promoting mental well-being and managing stress. She explained how engaging in creative activities such as drawing, painting, music, dance, and other forms of artistic expression can help individuals relax, express emotions, enhance self-awareness, and develop a positive outlook. Through her insights and practical perspectives, she encouraged students to view art not merely as a form of entertainment or creative expression, but also as a meaningful means of emotional well-being and stress management. The session provided students with valuable insights into the therapeutic potential of art and its contribution to overall personal development. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Sanjana.
