The Fest Forum Association, Department of Computer Applications, SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, organized a Fest Forum Training Programme for the First Year BCA ‘A’ and ‘B’ section students on 13 August 2026 in Room Nos. 307 and 308. The programme was conducted with the objective of familiarizing the newly admitted students with the various technical and non-technical events conducted in intercollegiate IT fests and providing them with valuable insights into INSPIRE–2026, the annual interclass IT Fest of the department.
The training programme was designed to encourage first-year students to actively participate in competitive events by helping them understand the nature, rules, evaluation criteria, and required skills of each event. It also aimed to develop confidence, teamwork, communication skills, creativity, and technical aptitude among the students.
The programme was led by the event heads of INSPIRE–2026, who carefully planned and conducted interactive demonstration sessions. The students were divided into classrooms, where each event head explained the event format through live demonstrations, practical examples, and mock activities, making the sessions engaging and informative.
Throughout the programme, the event heads motivated the first-year students to actively participate in departmental and intercollegiate competitions. They shared their personal experiences from previous IT fests and highlighted the learning opportunities, exposure, and confidence gained through participation. The interactive nature of the sessions encouraged students to clarify their doubts and develop a positive attitude towards competitive events.
The students gained a clear understanding of the objectives, rules, and expectations of various events while developing greater confidence in showcasing their technical and creative abilities. The programme also fostered enthusiasm for innovation, teamwork, communication, and healthy competition, motivating students to become active contributors to the department’s academic and co-curricular activities.
The programme was successfully coordinated by Mr. Arun F. Sequeira, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Applications, who ensured the smooth organization and effective execution of all the training sessions.
