On 17th September 2026, the Finance Department organized an awareness programme on the Basic Concepts of Taxation for the Commerce students of Government Pre-University College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness and provide students with a basic understanding of direct taxation and its concepts . Ms. Isha A. Shetty and Ms. Kavya Devadiga of III BBA B served as the student coordinators for the programme. They explained the fundamental aspects of taxation through an informative PowerPoint presentation, making the concepts interesting for the students to understand. As part of the programme, a quiz on taxation was also conducted to assess and reinforce the students’ understanding of the concepts discussed. The winners were awarded prizes in recognition of their performance.The session was very interactive and was successful in enriching the students with the knowledge of taxation. Mrs. Smitha M coordinated the programme.
