The SCAN Association of the Department of Computer Applications, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Business Management, Mangaluru, organized a Skill Enhancement Activity titled “IT QUIZ – Brain Bytes” on the theme “Cyber Security and Data Privacy Challenge” on Friday, 18 September 2026, at 3:10 PM in Lab S and Lab D.
The primary objective of the programme was to enhance students’ knowledge of information technology while creating awareness about the importance of cyber security, data privacy, and safe digital practices. The event aimed to strengthen students’ analytical thinking, improve their understanding of current technological developments, and encourage them to apply cybersecurity concepts in real-life digital environments through an engaging and competitive learning experience.
A total of 68 students from various BCA classes enthusiastically participated in the quiz competition. The event was designed to test participants’ knowledge across diverse areas of Information Technology, including computer fundamentals, networking, cyber threats, ethical hacking, encryption, digital forensics, online safety, password security, data protection laws, emerging technologies, and current developments in the IT industry.
The quiz was conducted through multiple-choice The cyber security and data privacy theme encouraged students to think critically about protecting personal and organizational information in today’s digitally connected world and created an energetic and intellectually stimulating atmosphere, with participants displaying remarkable enthusiasm and a healthy competitive spirit throughout the programme.
The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Shashikala Shetty and was coordinated by Mr. Arun F. Sequeira, whose efforts ensured the smooth planning and execution of the activity.
