The Rovers and Rangers Unit of SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, organised an Anti-Drug Awareness Elocution Competition on 23 September 2026 as part of “Nirmaya – Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” The programme aimed to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote preventive measures towards a drug-free society. More than nine institutions participated in the competition, with students delivering informative speeches on the physical and psychological effects of drug abuse, prevention strategies, and the role of youth, families, and educational institutions in combating substance abuse. The competition was judged by Dr. Subbalakshmi, Mrs. Smitha, and Mrs. Jeevitha. The participants demonstrated confidence, knowledge, and effective communication skills. The programme was successfully coordinated by Mr. Chethanraj and Mrs. Vijetha, Rovers and Rangers Coordinators, and concluded with a strong message promoting a healthy and drug-free society
