The final-year BCA students of the Department of Computer Applications, SDM College of Business Management, in association with Rovers and Rangers, conducted an extension activity on “Basics of Computer” at Government School -Bokkapatna, on 26 September 2026.
The programme was organized with the objective of introducing school students to the basic concepts of MS Word and MS Excel. The BCA students provided practical exposure by explaining various basic operations of MS Word and MS Paint.
The school students were given an opportunity to work on laptops and practice concepts such as searching for words and creating tables in MS Word. They very creatively worked on MS Paint creating the pictures on it .They participated enthusiastically and showed keen interest in learning the different applications. At the end of the session, a quiz was conducted to assess their understanding of the concepts covered during the programme.
The activity provided the final-year BCA students with valuable experience in interacting with school students. It also helped them develop their communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Divya Uchil.
