Water Conservation Awareness and Social Service Activity at Kudroli Temple

The Social Responsibility Committee, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) students, organised a social service and awareness activity at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, Mangaluru, on 16 October 2026, in connection with the Dasara celebrations.

The main objective of the activity was to create awareness among devotees and the public about the importance of water conservation and the responsible use of water in daily life. As a large number of devotees visit the temple during the Dasara celebrations, the programme provided an opportunity to spread the message of saving water and protecting this valuable natural resource.

During the activity, students highlighted the need to avoid the wastage of water, use water carefully, and develop responsible habits to conserve water for future generations. The students also emphasised that water conservation is a collective responsibility and that every individual can contribute through small but meaningful actions.

Along with creating awareness, the committee and NSS students actively participated in social service activities at the temple premises, demonstrating the importance of community participation, civic responsibility, and service to society. The programme helped students understand the significance of environmental protection and encouraged them to become socially responsible citizens.

The activity was a meaningful initiative that combined social service with environmental awareness during the Dasara celebrations. It reinforced the message that every drop of water is precious and that conserving water is essential for a sustainable future. The activity coordinated by Mrs. Anasuya
