The Department of Computer Applications organized an Alumni–Student Interaction Programme titled “Bridging Dreams and Careers: Alumni Connect” for the students of III BCA ‘B’ on August 03, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Room No. 208. The resource person for the session was Ms. Sahanalatha, Junior Associate, UnifyCX, Kavoor, Mangalore, and a distinguished alumna of the 2022–2025 BCA batch.
The programme was conducted with the objective of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing students with practical career guidance. It also aimed to strengthen alumni–student relationships, inspire students through real-life experiences, and encourage them to develop the skills required for professional success.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Arun F. Sequeira, who introduced the guest speaker and emphasized the significance of alumni interactions in shaping students’ career aspirations. Following the introduction, Ms. Sahanalatha delivered an informative and inspiring session based on her academic and professional journey.
Drawing from her transition from college to the corporate world, Ms. Sahanalatha shared valuable insights into workplace culture, industry expectations, and the importance of technical competence, communication skills, teamwork, and continuous learning. She motivated students to remain adaptable, embrace new challenges with confidence, and consistently upgrade their knowledge to remain competitive in today’s rapidly evolving IT industry.
The programme witnessed the participation of 54 students, who actively engaged in the interactive session. The question-and-answer segment allowed students to seek guidance on career planning, workplace expectations, and professional development. The speaker addressed each query thoughtfully, making the interaction both meaningful and informative.
The session proved to be highly beneficial, equipping students with a clearer perspective on career opportunities and the skills required to achieve their professional goals. It also reinforced the importance of perseverance, lifelong learning, and maintaining a positive attitude while pursuing a successful career.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Vinayak, Class Representative of III BCA ‘B’, who expressed gratitude to the resource person for sharing her valuable experiences and motivating the students. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Arun F. Sequeira.
