As part of NIRMAYA – Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, on the 22nd September 2026 , an Anti-Drug Awareness Street Play was organised by the Rovers and Rangers Unit, Youth Red Cross and National Service Scheme at Mangaluru Central Railway Station, to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
A total of 23 students actively participated in the street play and presented an engaging and meaningful performance highlighting the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse. Posters and slogans were also used to spread the message effectively among passengers and the public.
The programme was supported by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Health Inspector, who joined the programme and shared important information on drug abuse, health, safety and preventive measures.
The street play received good attention from passengers, railway staff and the public and successfully conveyed the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat and the importance of collective action in creating a healthy and drug-free society.
