The 650th Birth Anniversary of Sant Ravidas was celebrated by the Karnataka Rajya Mahavidyalaya Shikshak Sangha (KRMSS), Dakshina Kannada District Unit, in association with SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore, on 6 August 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the college auditorium. The programme was organized as part of the “Indian Saint Tradition – Guest Lecture Series.”
The programme was smoothly compered by Ms. Sana Sathish. It commenced with a prayer rendered by Ms. Spoorthi Shetty. Dr. Jyothi delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. Ms. Linyisha introduced the chief guest to the audience.
The Prastava Bhashan (Introductory Address) was delivered by Prof. Nagaratna Rao, who highlighted the significance of the Indian saint tradition and the timeless teachings of Sant Ravidas. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tribute offered by all the dignitaries.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Shree Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, who, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of the teachings of Indian saints in promoting equality, harmony, and human values in society.
The guest lecture was delivered by Prof. Suma T. R., who spoke on the theme “Indian Saint Tradition.” She explained the life, philosophy, and contributions of Sant Ravidas and highlighted his message of social equality, devotion, and universal brotherhood. Her lecture inspired the students to uphold moral values and contribute positively to society.
The Presidential Address was delivered by the Principal, who encouraged the students to imbibe the ideals of Indian saints and apply them in their personal and professional lives. The programme coordinated Dr.Jyothi
