Student Council of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Business management organised onam celebrations on August 29, 2026, An event that brought students and faculty together to celebrate the cultural richness of Kerala under the theme Trayambagam, “Celebrating Tradition, Togetherness & Prosperity.”
The programme was thoughtfully decorated to reflect the festive character of Onam. A beautifully arranged Pookalam, composed of colourful flower petals, formed the visual centrepiece of the celebration.
Sharan Chilimbi, a popular social media influencer, and Swaraj Shetty, an actor, were the chief guests for the programme. Sharan Chilimbi shared reflections from his own journey, speaking candidly about the struggles he faced before achieving recognition. He encouraged the students to take risks, remain devoted to their passions, and trust that sincere effort is eventually rewarded. Swaraj Shetty, in his address, spoke about the importance of identifying one’s goals and pursuing them with determination. He also urged students to use social media in a responsible and constructive manner, while stressing the values of humility, kindness, and respect towards teachers.
Principal Dr. Bhanuprakash B.E., in his presidential address, reflected on the deeper purpose of such celebrations. He remarked that events like “Thrayambakam” allow students from diverse cultural backgrounds to come together, fostering unity and a sense of belonging within the campus community. He further advised students to balance academics with personal interests and hobbies, noting that this balance contributes to well-rounded growth and helps individuals stay grounded amid the pressures of student life.
Adding to the festive spirit, “Thrayambakam 2026” featured a Pookalam competition for students, followed by a vibrant cultural programme that showcased their talent and creativity.
The event was made possible through the efforts of the Student Council Coordinators, with the guidance of staff in charge, Mrs. Divya Uchil and Miss Deepa Jayachandra .
