Practical Training Workshop on Programming and Software Applications for GFGC Kavoor Students.

BCA Department organized a Two-day hands-on workshop for the students of Government First Grade College, Indiranagar, Kavoor, Mangalore on 19 and 20 November 2025 in the college computer laboratory.

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students with practical exposure to essential lab-based programmes and applications, enabling them to strengthen their technical skills through guided practice.
A total of 10 first-year students and 27 second-year students enthusiastically participated in the workshop.

The sessions were conducted by experienced faculty members who focused on different software tools and programming concepts.
 Mrs. Divya Uchil conducted sessions for the first-year students, explaining various programmes in “Programming in C” and guiding them through the related exercises.
 Mr. Arun F. Sequeira introduced the participants to Microsoft Access, demonstrating key database exercises and helping students understand practical database management.
 Mrs. Shashikala Shetty engaged the students in MS Word exercises, helping them gain proficiency in essential documentation skills.
 Mrs. Shashiprabha conducted sessions for the second-year students, explaining various programmes in C# and the .NET framework, and guiding them through related exercises.
In addition to the faculty support, student volunteers played a significant role in ensuring the smooth progress of the workshop. Twelve third-year students volunteered on 19th November 2025, while thirteen second-year students offered assistance on 20th November 2025, contributing to the effective facilitation of the sessions.
The workshop enhanced the students’ practical skills in programming, database management, and documentation through hands-on exercises. It also boosted their confidence in using essential software tools, preparing them for future academic and lab-related tasks.

The students were escorted by the faculties of GFGC, Kavoor, Dr. Santhosh Pinto and Dr. Ashwin Loyal Mendonca, ensuring proper supervision throughout the workshop.
