To commemorate World Investor Week, the Finance Department has conducted an extension activity on Stock Market Awareness for the students of Government PU College for Girls, Carstreet Mangalore. The objective of this activity is to provide basic knowledge of financial markets and investment practices. Laxmisagar , Disha Kottary of III BBA and Dhanya Ravi of III BA(HRD) were the student coordinators. They presented on the basic concepts of stock market, shares and investments. They also explained the importance of Demat and trading accounts, mutual funds, and Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs). Participants were made aware of the risks associated with rumours, scams, and impulsive investing. The activity aimed to develop financial literacy and encourage responsible financial habits among students. Quiz was conducted to assess participants understanding of the concepts and prizes were given in recognition of their performance. The session was very interactive and was successful in enriching the students with the knowledge of stock market. Mrs. Smitha M coordinated the programme.
