The Department of Computer Applications of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara college Mangaluru, hosted an One day National Level IT Fest “Sygma”on 22 July, 2022.
The sygma fest theme for this year was Meliora, Pursuit of the better.It was Inaugurated by lighting the lamp dignitaries , which included : Prof,Mrs.Aruna P Kamath Principal . Mr. Rohit Pai Delivery manager Infosys, Mangaluru and Ms.Namratha Sharath Project Lead,Business Intelligence, Dell technologies Bangalore , alumni of the insitution. Mr. Skanda Narayan CEO of Sygma briefed about the gathering of the events that would be held.
The Chief Guest, Mr Rohit Pai addressed the gathering He mentioned some of the key technologies that are evergreen in the industry and urged the students to master them.
Ms. Namratha Shararh spoke about the importance of fest and called upon everyone to participate enthusiastically.she also recherished her student life.She congratulated the department of BCA for having hosted Sygma for a decade and wished all the participants fruitful time at SDM.
The Prof, Aruna P Kamath Principal gave her presidential remarks .She spoke about the Importance of the journey from being performers to reformers and to go on to become transformers.
The Inaugural was Compeered by Ms Anushree Alva . Ms. Bhoomika welcomed the gathering. Mr. Dale Introduced the chief guest, Mr. Rohit Pai.. Ms. Krithika Introduced the chief guest Ms. Namratha Sharath. Ms. Limitha Proposed the vote of thanks.
All in all, 15 teams participated. The fest comprised of 6 events namely: IT Quiz, Coding and Debugging, Web Designing, Paper Presentation, Photography & Cinematography and IT chaser
There was a Sygma theme song sung by the BCA Students. Mr.Arun F. Sequeira HOD of BCA Department and Mrs Shasikala shetty, Staff coordinators. Mr Skandanarayan Bhat N, the Student coordinator for the fest Sygma 2022.
At, the end of Inaugural function there was an unveiling of the trophies for which the participants were competing against each other.
