The Rovers and Rangers Association of SDM College of Business Management organized ‘Vivekotsava–2024’ to observe National Youth Day, on March 30 in the conference hall of the college here.
B Gopinath Bhat, Ex-civil Engineer (Armed Forces), Mangaluru, inaugurated the programme.
Addressing the students he said the youth must stop, stay a little, and self-think and attach themselves to their larger objectives. Taking inspiration from Vivekananda’s life journey, he inspired the students with a talk on various aspects of how students should lead their lives like Swami Vivekananda.
Prof. Aruna P. Kamath, Principal, SDM College of Business Management, presided over the programme. In her address, she highlighted the personality of Swami Vivekananda and said, “India has given birth to many great personalities and it is necessary to study them completely”.
She also motivated the students to imbibe the values of Swami Vivekananda in their personalities. “Starting an early investment in personality helps to double our contribution towards society” she added.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Shashikala, Mrs.Anasuya (Rovers and Rangers officers); and Mr.Sudarshan, Physical Director. Vishaka Pai and Ayush Rao were the student coordinators.
On the occasion of celebrating National Youth Day, Several competitions were held. Participants were rewarded by the Chief Guest for winning various competitions. The programme concluded by giving a tribute to Vivekananda through a patriotic song.
As a Tribute, The Library Department of the college organized a Book exhibition in the library collectively of all the books accolade to Swami Vivekananda.
