A workshop on “Consumer Empowerment”was conducted on 8 June 2023 by Consumer cell of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara college of Business Management .The objective of creating awareness among the students on empowering consumer for sustainable tomorrow and also to know about consumer claims and settlements.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Devan. Professor, ENT department, AJ Institute of medical science and research centre, Mangalore.
In his inaugural address, he motivated the students with adequate skill sets which enable their skills in relevant sectors and improve their productivity in future.
Mrs. Divya Uchil,Dean of Computer Application Department, in her presidential address highlighted the need for awareness of consumer in digital sector.
There were two technical sessions on topics, “Empowering consumer for sustainable tomorrow “ and “Consumer claims and settlements “by Ms. Ashni, resource person for the District consumer information center in Mangalore.
The workshop drew a large number of students from various colleges. The session was successful in inspiring to explore the sector of consumerism.
Mrs. Rashmi T and Mrs. Deepashree G Shenoy, Assistant Professors, coordinated the programme.
