Workshop on the theme “Funding New Ventures”- EDP CELL

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Business Management, Mangalore organised a workshop on the topic “Funding New Ventures” by the EDP cell on 9 June 2023. The objective was to create awareness about the various sources available for funding new ventures among budding entrepreneurs. It was inaugurated by Mr. Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daiji World Media Pvt. Ltd., Mangalore. Ms. Pooja Acharya, founder of Digitallence, a digital marketing firm in Mangalore and also an alumni of the college, was the guest of honour. Mr. Walter Nandalike, in his inaugural address, pointed out how to overcome issues and challenges in business and focused on youth empowerment. Identifying business opportunities is crucial for budding entrepreneurs, he added.  Ms.Pooja Acharya stressed the need for developing a passion for following needs and becoming successful entrepreneurs in the future. Mrs. Divya Uchil, Principal Incharge in her presidential address, pointed out the need for awareness of funding new ventures among budding entrepreneurs.

The inaugural session was followed by two technical sessions on topics, “MSME SHEMES” by Mr. Sundera Sherigara M., Assistant Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Ministry of MSME Government of India Mangaluru, and “Banking Schemes And Loans For Start-Ups” by Ms. Megha Shetty, Senior Manager, Canara Bank Mangaluru. A large number of students from various colleges took part in the workshop. The workshop was successful in giving motivation to the young entrepreneurs to venture into the exciting field of entrepreneurship. Mrs. Supritha R. K. and Ms. Pooja Anchan, Assistant Professors, coordinated the programme. Mr. Mohammed Shameer and Ms. Yashaswini were the student coordinators.
